This is an easy read with a lot of repetition but a lot of interesting animals. Some had difficulty with the story line (she could live out in the snow but she also had enough warmth to carry a child). Most didn't like the fairytale aspect of the book. We thought that Jack and Esther were likeable and typical of Alaska. Some thought with the ending that she ran in to the woods Some thought it should have been a young adult book.
